Padi Divemaster

Take the first step in your dive career and become a PADI Divemaster. Working closely with our PADI Instructors and being mentored by our PADI Course Director, you’ll expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills as you become a dive professional. PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities by training you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers.

What does it cost?

What can PADI Divemasters do?

  • Work at local dive centers, on live-aboard dive boats, yachts and at exotic resort locations
  • Assist PADI Instructors with students
  • Lead PADI Scuba Divers on guided dive tours
  • Teach and certify PADI Skin Divers
  • Teach PADI Discover Snorkeling programs
  • Conduct PADI Scuba Review programs for certified divers
  • Lead certified divers on Discover Local Diving experiences

What do I need to start?

  • PADI Rescue Diver certification.
  • Medical clearance signed by a physician (AS2299 professional dive medical)
  • EFR First Aid at Work or equivalent
  • O2 Provider
  • 20 logged dives to start (60 to finish)
  • 18 years old
  • 3 passport photos
  • Personal Dive equipment including pocket mask, knife, whistle and SMB

What will I do?

  • Learn dive leadership through classroom and independent study sessions
  • Complete water skills and stamina exercises in confined and open water
  • Training exercises to test organizational and problem solving abilities
  • An internship & series of practical training exercises
  • Learn Boat Dive Operations
  • Learn Dive Shop Operations

When can I start?

The Dive Master program is flexible, every Monday evening one of our PADI instructors will deliver a Dive Master Classroom presentation and on the last weekend of each month we woll have group pool training session, this schedule is year round so you can start at the time of your convenience. Just let us know when you would like to begin and we will set you on your path to becoming a dive professional.


PADI Assistant Instructor

Padi Assistant Instructor

The PADI Assistant Instructor course is the first portion of the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC). You’ll not only gain additional experience as a PADI Professional but you’ll also start learning the PADI System of diver education.

What can PADI Assistant Instructors do?

  • Teach academic presentations under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor
  • Evaluate Open Water Diver surface skills under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor
  • Teach the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course
  • Teach Project AWARE Specialty courses
  • Conduct PADI Discover Scuba experiences
  • Teach Emergency First Response after successful completion of an Emergency First Response Instructor course

What will I need to start?

  • PADI Divemaster rating or qualifying certification from another certification organization
  • At least 18 years old
  • Have 60 logged dives, including night, deep, and navigation dives
  • Have been a certified diver for at least 6 months

What does it cost?

What will I do?

  • Knowledge development through self-study, quizzes, lectures and presentations
  • Confined water skill review and assessment, workshops and presentations
  • Open water workshops, rescue assessment and candidate presentations

Padi Master Scuba Diver Trainer

As a newly certified PADI Openwater Instructor you have attained one of the most respected professional dive credentials in the world. Now you can open up your opportunities by becoming a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer. As a MSDT you are qualified to teach a minimum of 5 PADI continuing education specialty programs, this not only makes you an extremely valuable asset to potential employers but also provides a wonderful variety in your teaching, letting you do the diving you want to do and getting paid for it.

  • 10 dives in the specialty area you wish to teach

IDC Staff Instructor Course

Padi IDCS

The IDC Staff Instructor program takes professional MSDTs to the next level of dive education, the training of new Instructors. As a qualified IDC staff Instructor you will be qualified to assist in the presentation of the IDC Curriculum and the evaluation of new instructor candidates and independently certify PADI assistant Instructors. You will become a valuable member of the professional instructor development team and begin your preparation for even higher instructor levels such as Master Instructor or the highest instructor level, Course Director. A very rewarding program that provides for even better employment opportunities upon completion.

What will I do?

  • Orientation to Instructor Development standards, curriculums and procedures
  • Orientation to Assistant Instructor course standards, curriculum and certification procedures
  • Develop evaluation skills to a effective and consistent level
  • Develop Counseling and critique skills to an effective level
  • Further develop presentation skills to role-model level
  • Prepare for staffing PADI Instructor development programs
  • Audit a complete IDC

What does it cost?

  • $699.- incl. GST

What do I need to start?

  • Be renewed and in teaching status as a PADI Instructor for the current year
  • Hold a Master Scuba Diver Trainer Rating
  • Agree to use the PADI System and components in its entirety
  • Own all required equipment and materials as set forth by PADI
  • Own a personal copy of the PADI Course Director manual

How long does it take?

  • Preparation of 2 days is conducted in parallel with the IPC
  • Course completion is at the end of a full IDC audit
  • Total of 9 days

When Can I start?

  • Courses are scheduled to start 2 days prior to all IDCs, however the initial 2 days of training can be completed anytime upon request.
